Earlier this year, Hopkins was released by the Arizona Cardinals because they couldn't find a suitable trade partner/agreement. He had a very expensive contract with Arizona, which made it difficult for them to make a trade. Despite only playing in nine games last season, Hopkins had impressive stats, ranking fourth in the league for catches per game and tenth for receiving yards per game.
Throughout his career, Hopkins has accumulated the eighth-most receiving yards in the first 10 seasons of any player in NFL history, with 11,298 yards. He also has the fourth-most receptions, with 853 catches. However, he has struggled with injuries and suspensions in the past two years, missing 15 out of 34 regular-season games due to a hamstring injury, a torn MCL, and a suspension.
